Dewerstone Life Shorts 2.0 review

Dewerstone Life Shorts in their element

I’ve been wearing these bad boy boardies for a while now, so they’re tried, tested and wholeheartedly recommended.

If you’re looking for a new pair of boardies that actually work well in the surf and give you a warm sustainable glow of satisfaction – buy a pair of Dewerstone Life Shorts 2.0.

Intelligently designed for active outdoor use

Dewerstone life shorts in cool original designs

Dewerstones Life Shorts 2.0 are lightweight, stretchy, made from recycled material and feature original cool designs. What I think sets them apart are these three features:

1. Gripper stripper
There’s a grippy strip on the inside of the waistband that means your shorts stay in place. Even when you wipe out on an overhead Indo monster or your mate tries to whip them down in a moment of spontaneous hilarity!

Simple but I’ve not seen it on any other boardies and it really works!

2. No laces or elastic waistband
Life Shorts have a clever velcro style fastening that is comfortable, easy to use and looks smart.

So say goodbye to laces that come undone and are uncomfortable when paddling out. As for ugly and unsophisticated elasticated waistbands, they can stay in the past.

3. Sensibly placed and zippable pockets
Doesn’t sound that exciting or revolutionary I know, but I’ve never owned a pair of boardies with such usable pockets. They’re ample in size and sit just below the waist band, which means anything you put in them stays close to the body and doesn’t bounce around.

Unlike flappy pockets half way down your leg, these don’t require a yoga move to retrieve the contents either. Zips with removable toggles means they’re easy to secure too.

Super sustainable

Dewerstone doing good

Did I mention that Dewerstone’s Life Shorts are designed in Devon, made from recycled plastic bottles and recycled polyester?

In fact the whole company ethos and mission is about making cool outdoor clothing and gear whilst doing right by our planet. Here’s some of the ways they do that:

Why buy Dewerstone shorts over a pair from the bigger brands?

Founder Rory Atton after dragging tyres out of the sea.

Buy from the big brands and your hard earned cash goes to CEOs and shareholders who just care about the money. Faceless investors who don’t surf, kayak, climb or do anything that might require physical exertion in the wild.

Buy from Dewerstone and you’re supporting a Devon based business. You’re also virtually high fiving their cool crew of outdoor activity lovers, who genuinely care about the product, customers and our planet.

In addition to giving money to good causes Dewerstone are B Corp certified. So they work to high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.

No contest if you stop to think about it

Disclaimer

I was gifted a pair of Dewerstone Life Shorts to help write this review. However all the words above are honest and I genuinely believe Dewerstone is one of the good guys of surf and outdoor clothing. I regularly buy goods from them and believe you’ll enjoy their products too.
