Learning to surf isn’t glamorous or sexy, so it’s probably no surprise that celebrity surfer girls are rare.
For some celebs there’s an incentive to take the plunge. Kate Bosworth did it for the lead role in Blue Crush. Cameron Diaz and Gisele Bündchen were charmed into the ocean by Kelly Slater. Reese Witherspoon and Helen Hunt took surf lessons whilst on holiday in Hawaii.
However there are a few who genuinely love surfing and are good at it, like Marissa Miller who came second in the celebrity division of the Kelly Slater Surf Invitational 2004.
