Shhh! Secret surf spots in the UK

I’ve previously said “there’s no such thing as a secret spot in the UK, just inaccessible waves with less crowds”.

Some guys at a well known Secret Spot in Yorkshire beg to differ, and argue there’s still waves out there to discover on your own or with a few carefully chosen buddies.

The Yorkshire coastline is geologically diverse with many points, reefs, coves and beaches. Coupled with a 180 degree swell window, it provides many different spots that fire in the many different weather conditions.

Next time the surf is on – instead of jumping straight in, study a map, look at Google Earth and go exploring. You may just find a few hidden gems to reward your time and effort.

Hi there.
I have searched high and low for info on the first picture titled ‘Yorkshire scores big points’
Could you tell me whereabouts it was taken. I am desperate to surf that sweet left hander!

  I personally don’t know (honest), but the crew at Secret Spot surf shop in Scarborough will.
  
  But no surfer in their right mind would freely share a secret spot with a stranger.
  
  So you’ll need to make some new friends in Scarborough 🙂

  I’ve done a quick bit of google investigating and I’m pretty sure this place is Cayton Point…looks like a nice left, I hope you get to enjoy it.
